18| JEALOUS.

Seven months had flown by quickly. For Maya and Adranksh, it had been a brief period of happiness. They had spent almost every moment together, and their bond had grown stronger each day.

Three months ago, some of their original companies merged, forming a powerful new entity: Mayansh.

The name combined their identities, making it unique and memorable. It captured the attention of the business world, boosting their success and setting new industry records.

Now, it was time for the Annual Business Awards, held once again in Rajasthan. Anticipation was high, and the media buzzed with excitement.

This was the most important event of the year, where corporate giants gathered, and the red carpet awaited the business elite.

Maya arrived in a stunning black bodycon dress that beautifully showcased her figure.

A pair of Louboutin heels completed her look, enhancing her strong presence. Adranksh stood beside her, exuding sophistication in a tailored three-piece black suit, his Louboutin shoes shining under the event lights.

Together, they radiated power—dangerously captivating, like a couple straight out of a dark fantasy.

Every eye was on them, drawn to their undeniable charm. Maya lightly rested her hand on Adranksh’s arm as they moved through the crowd, greeting business partners and radiating confidence with each step. They were not just attendees at this event.

They were the moment.

The perfect power couple.

Glittering chandeliers cast a warm glow over the crowd, highlighting walls adorned in gold and ivory. The event had already witnessed some winners take the stage, but the best part of the evening was yet to come.

A hush fell over the audience as the host walked onto the stage, holding a golden envelope.

“And now, the award for Best Business Merger of the Year,” he announced, his voice resonating through the hall. There was a dramatic pause; tension hung in the air.

“The winner is… Mayansh—the powerful collaboration of Maya and Adranksh Singh Rajput!”

The room erupted in applause. The spotlight shifted in rapid succession, capturing the moment as the couple stood gracefully from their seats. Hand in hand, they approached the stage, radiating power and elegance.

Maya received the trophy first, her grip steady and her confidence strong. “This merger wasn’t just about business,” she said into the microphone, her voice smooth yet commanding. “It was about vision, trust, and believing that together, we could redefine success.”

Adranksh took his turn, his deep voice commanding attention. “Mayansh is more than just a company—it’s a legacy in the making. And this is only the beginning.”

Another wave of applause filled the hall as they left the stage, their victory clear.

But the night wasn’t over yet.

A few categories later, the host’s voice rang out again. “The award for Businesswoman of the Year goes to… Maya Adranksh Singh Rajput!”

Maya felt a brief catch in her breath before a knowing smile spread across her face. Adranksh kissed the back of her hand, whispering, “Go claim what’s yours.”

She strode back to the stage, commanding every gaze in the room. “This award,” she began, her eyes bright, “is for every woman who refuses to be defined by limits. For those who dare to dream bigger. You can achieve it.”

Cheers erupted as she stepped down, her head held high.

But before the excitement could fade, the host chuckled. “And now, the Businessman of the Year award goes to none other than… Adranksh Singh Rajput!”

Maya turned to her husband, her smile growing as she applauded him. Adranksh adjusted his cufflinks, exuding confidence as he made his way to the stage.

“This honor belongs to my family, my partners, and most importantly, to the woman beside me,” he said, his gaze meeting Maya’s in the crowd. “Mayansh wouldn’t exist without her, and neither would this victory.”

The night ended with the couple posing for pictures, both holding their awards—the ultimate power couple, reigning over the business world.

As they exited the hall, whispers followed them.

They were not just successful.

They were unstoppable.

From a distance, a man watched, his jaw tightening as Maya and Adranksh reveled in their victory. The applause, the admiration, the way they stood side by side—untouchable. His fingers clenched into fists, nails digging into his palms.

It should have been him beside her.

Unable to endure another moment, he suddenly stood and stormed into an empty hallway. The walls felt like they were closing in on him, suffocating him under the weight of his anger.

With a primal scream, he grabbed a table and slammed it to the floor. Glass shattered, fragments scattering across the marble like his broken dreams. He reached for a large vase, ready to hurl it against the wall, when a firm hand gripped his wrist.

“Enough! Calm down.”

A female voice, sharp and steady.

He turned, breathing heavily, eyes blazing with anger as they met hers.

“I can’t, Sharvari. I just can’t,” he spat, shaking off her grip. “Seven months! Seven months of watching them succeed while we stand in the shadows. When are we going to split them up?”

Sharvari smiled slowly, knowingly. She stepped closer, placing a hand on his chest to feel the rapid beat of his heart under her palm.

“Soon,” she whispered, her voice a dangerous promise. “Very soon.”

She slipped her arm through his, gently guiding him away.
